Gamescom has tied up with BIG Festival for a brand new spinoff called Gamescom Latam. Taking place at the São Paulo Expo from June 26 to 30, 2024, you can expect the best games and the latest trends circulating in the gaming industry. Be one of the first few people in the world to catch the newest convention live, take notes on special announcements by your favorite video game developers, meet and greet opportunities and so much more.
Everyone who loves gaming knows about Gamescom, which is annually held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. It carries the title of the largest gaming event, averaging over 300,000 attendees and over a thousand exhibitions from more than 50 countries. If you’ve ever had the chance to attend Gamescom, you’ll find yourself immersed in the thousands of activities, tournaments, and various stalls set up. The endless activities might yield a slight possibility of you forgetting about the main stage, which holds surprises of its own!
The main stage at the convention has been used by many development studios to announce the newest technology coming to the market. In the past, the stage was used by Sony to announce the launch of the PlayStation 3 Slim, PSP, and PS GO, with our hopes up on what’s to come out of Gamescom Latam’s announcements. The multiday convention is a tie-up between Gamescom and BIG Festival, which is the largest gaming festival in Latin America. At the convention, you’ll be able to play games, partake in tournaments, and test out some unreleased games. What To Expect at Gamescom Latam 2024
Just like the Gamescom that takes place in Germany, Gamescom Latam will have an opening show scheduled for June 26 with Tiago Leifert, who will be debuting as a host for the show. The show will include trailers for every major AAA game as well as indie games that are highly anticipated. Tiago Leifert will also be helping attendees by highlighting the various sections and activities, major events, and much more.
The rest of the day, you’ll be free to explore several pop-up shops as well as activities. One of the most interesting things would be to test the 250 games that are yet to be released. You can even find smaller and independent game developers displaying their newest projects, which they’ll gladly let you try.
Later, you can sit for a couple of panels that have creators taking you through the process of creating such a masterpiece. You’ll also witness world-leading video game publishers like Warner Bros., Nintendo, Xbox, Ubisoft, and many more bring their best games for you to try and even purchase.
You can enjoy 200 hours of content where big names in the gaming industry will share their experiences, meet and greet with influencers, and have more exciting fun. BIG Festival will also host an award ceremony for the best games of the year, which had 600 registered games from 55 countries and 18 categories.
