Lollapalooza India

Where: Mahalaxmi Racecourse
Lollapalooza India made its return to the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, spread across 225 acres of land in Mumbai, for the second edition of the festival. On January 27–28, more than 40 artists performed across four stunning stages, including the likes of Halsey, the Jonas Brothers, American DJ/producer Kenny Beats, ‘I Like Me Better’ and ‘Never Not’ singer Lauv, and English rock duo Royal Blood on Day 1. Malian singer-songwriter Fatoumata Diawara, The Karan Kanchan Live Experience, Long Distances, and When Chai Met Toast also set the Lollapalooza India stage ablaze on January 27.
MEDUZA, OneRepublic, Sting, JPEGMafia, Anoushka Shankar, Prabh Deep, Komorebi, and Mali, among others, were also on the artist card. The festival partnered with “Re:wild and its local partners through environmental education, providing space on the festival grounds to speak with fans, and direct financial support to Re:wild projects.” The inaugural edition of Lollapalooza India was held last year in Mumbai.

Mahindra Blues Festival
When: February 10 – 11, 2024
Where: Mehboob Studios, Bandra
The Mahindra Blues Festival has been bringing the best in blues music to the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai for over a decade. Slated to be held on February 10 and 11 this year, the festival returns to the movie studio in Bandra with its “first-ever all-feminine roster.” “Celebrating the women in blues” the festival presents American singer-songwriter Dana Fuchs, Sheryl Youngblood, Tripti Kharbangar, American saxophonist and singer-songwriter Vanessa Collier, Beth Hart, and American singer-songwriter and guitarist Samantha Fish. The festival not only attracts locals but music enthusiasts from far and wide flock to Mehboob Studios to witness the stellar acts take the Mahindra Blues stage.

Mahindra Independence Rock Festival

Where: Bayview Lawns, Mazgaon
Rock and metal music fans, this one’s for you! The Mahindra Independence Rock Festival hosts iconic musicians delivering crowd-pleasers as well as the freshest talents. The 2023 edition of the festival was held across two days on November 4 and 5 last year, with metal band Underside, multiple award-winning Bangalore-based contemporary carnatic rock outfit Tough on Tobacco feat. Bombay Brass and more on the roster. I-Rock 2023 also opened its doors to musicians, including Bhayanak Maut, an indie rock act from Delhi Parikrama, Mama Tips and the Mama’s Bois, Gutslit, and more.

Far Out Left
When: February 9 – 10, 2024
Where: Todi Mill Alleyway, Lower Parel
Far Out Left Festival will be held at the Todi Mill Allleyway on February 9 and 10, 2024. Renowned DJs like Arjun Vagale, American DJ/producer Jeff Mills, Alina, and Tyrell Dub Corp are slated to perform at the two-day festival in Mumbai next month. German DJ/producer and label head Marcel Dettman, Kollision, and Akua, among others, will also head to Far Out Left. The festival is sure to blow your mind with its massive artist card.

Control ALT Delete

Where: Roaring Farm, Malad
“India’s largest independent crowdfunded music festival” Control ALT Delete (CAD) returned for its 13th edition on January 13 – 14 at the Roaring Farm in Malad. In its early days, the festival has hosted some of the biggest names like Divine, MC Stan, Neazy, and Emiway. CAD has a pay-what-you-want policy. You enter the festival by contributing as much as you want—any amount of money you would prefer above rupee 1—and the profit is equally split between the artists. The thirteenth edition of Control ALT Delete raised USD 13,232.93 (INR 11 lakhs) from 2706 supporters!
This must-visit festival welcomes multi-genre artists from the Indian music scene to deliver fiery performances. More than 45 artists graced five incredibly designed stages. Fans of genres including rock, metal, electronica, singer-songwriter, hip-hop, and indie can all be captivated by the hottest talents showcasing their skills on stage. This year, the festival tapped Kiss Nuka, rapper Naezy, Tracy De Sa, Bombay Brass, Aarifah, The F16S, Inner Sanctum, Tarqeeb, Gandhaar, Tejas, and more.
