The UK’s dubstep pioneer and deep bass icon Mala will perform in Auckland and Christchurch as part of his upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand. Sydney’s multi-faceted music outfit Astral People and Kiwi events mogul Fuzen Entertainment tie in the man behind Deep Medi Musik for a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand. Mala makes a welcome return to the land down under on the back of his performance at the Project 6 festival in London, with gigs in Auckland, Christchurch, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth on the agenda. Auckland’s live music hub, Neck Of The Woods, is set to welcome the electronic artist on May 19, occupying a 10 PM headlining slot. Mala has also appeared on the roster of Fuzen Entertainment’s Northern Bass Festival on several previous occasions.
The show kicks off from 8 PM onwards with Auckland-based DJ and promoter Jason Howson, who dabbles in garage, drum & bass, grime, and dubstep on warm-up duties. Record label and events company Norman Foreman’s Sam Taylor and Bobby ‘MudMonkey’ Brown aka Norman Foreman Kru complete the artist card for the concert. Early bird tickets to the gig have already sold out, with first-release passes up for grabs.
