Swedish House Mafia Announces Latin America Tour
Swedish House Mafia will be hitting the road in Mexico and South America towards the end of this year! The Swedish supergroup took to social media to reveal the tour dates, cities, and venues they will be performing at. The trio comprising Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell will stop at the Coliseo Live Bogotá (Oct 27) in Colombia, Campo Marte in Mexico City (Oct 28), Estadio San Marcos in Lima, Peru (Nov 3), with a final tour date in São Paulo, Brazil at the Allianz Park Stadium on November 4 as part of this tour.
“Latin America we’ve been missing you!! It’s finally time for us to come back!” Swedish House Mafia announced on Instagram. “Everyone knows you’re one of the best crowds in the world… Let’s make up for lost time and create new memories together.” Their latest album ‘Paradise Again,’ their first album in a decade, was rolled out in January last year. It comprised seventeen tracks and featured collaborations with The Weeknd, Ty Dolla Sign, A$AP Rocky, and English musician Sting, among others. Last week, they shared Kodat’s remix of their track ‘Can U Feel It.’
Ultra Europe Unveils Phase 2 Line-up for 2023 Festival
Some of most leading figures in electronic music will head to Croatia for Ultra Europe in Park Mladeži in Split from July 7 – 9. Swedish DJ/producer Axwell, DJ Snake, Dutch DJ/producer Oliver Heldens, and Zedd, have been announced as part of the phase 2 line-up for Ultra Europe 2023. “PHASE ?? LINEUP HAS DROPPED!” announced Ultra Europe via Instagram. “Get ready for the best edition of ULTRA Europe with many more names to come! ? See you in Croatia! ??”
Steve Aoki, French DJ/producer Tchami, Swedish DJ/producer Alesso, and Gryffin have also been confirmed as headliners. They will be joined by previously announced headlining acts Hardwell, Carl Cox, Martin Garrix, Boris Brejcha, Charlotte de Witte, Timmy Trumpet, and Adam Beyer. Nora En Pure, DJ/producer duo Mathame, Enrico Sangiuliano, Danish DJ/producer MORTEN, Hi-Lo, and Dutch house DJ/producer Fedde Le Grand will be on support duties at this destination music festival.
Charlotte de Witte to Release a New EP
Charlotte de Witte is all set to drop a new EP next week! Titled ‘Overdrive,’ the EP which features two tracks will be released via de Witte’s own label KNTXT on May 16. According to DJ Mag, the EP will feature “high-energy tracks meant to pull listeners into the fast-paced thrill that unlocks one’s turbocharged version of themselves.”
“While making ‘Overdrive’, I didn’t fully realize how applicable the lyrics are to my philosophy of life,” the Belgian DJ/producer said. “The fast-paced tempo, which goes full force without looking back, is all about the feeling of being on the edge and living life to the fullest.” She also released a four-track EP in 2022 titled ‘Apollo’ and her latest musical offering is ‘High Street,’ which was rolled out in April. Charlotte de Witte was voted the world’s number 1 techno DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2022.
Steve Aoki, Big Boi, and More Announced as Performers at Detroit Grand Prix
The Detroit Grand Prix is scheduled to take place next month from June 2 – 4 and will see performances from Canadian DJ/producer A-Trak, Steve Aoki, DJ/producer Z-Trip, and rapper Big Boi. A-Trak and Big Boi will take the entertainment stage in Hart Plaza on June 2 while Z-Trip and Steve Aoki will perform at this event on June 3.
“#DetroitGP weekend is not just about the races. It’s an entertainment-filled weekend with events that fans will never forget. To bring in Opening Night, Grammy Award-winning rapper and producer @bigboi will headline for FREE in Hart Plaza, completely open to the public, at 7:30 PM,” Detroit Grand Prix shared on Instagram.
“As we have said since we announced the return of the Grand Prix to its original home on the Streets of Downtown Detroit, this is going to be an event – not just a race,” Michael Montrisaid said while speaking to Forbes. Montri, the President of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix added: “With a great music lineup providing the soundtrack all weekend long in Hart Plaza, our fans are going to experience an entertainment-filled weekend that they will never forget here in the Motor City.”
Daft Punk Shares 10th Anniversary Edition of Random Access Memories with Unreleased Songs
Daft Punk has released a 10th-anniversary edition of their iconic album ‘Random Access Memories.’ Daft Punk also earned Grammy awards Best Dance/Electronica Album and Album of the Year for ‘Random Acess Memories.’ The anniversary edition not only includes the tracks ‘Get Lucky,’ ‘Instant Crush’ with Julian Casablancas, ‘Touch’ featuring Paul Williams, and ‘Doin’ it Right (feat. Panda Bear)’ but also offers 35 minutes of unreleased music.
The additional nine tracks on ‘Random Access Memories (10th Anniversary Edition)’ includes unreleased music, demos, and outtakes. Fans can now enjoy ‘Infinity Repeating’ an unreleased track with the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and The Voidz, ‘The Writing of Fragments of Time (feat. Todd Edwards),’ ‘GL (Early Take) [feat.
