Bass music DJ/producer Notlö is under fire for ripping sample tracks in her 2021 single ‘Hallucination Effect.’ The situation came to light when Twitter user @DenverDabber highlighted how Ghost Syndicate’s ‘NOCTURNA // Dubstep Sample Pack,’ and ‘GRIMOIRE // Dubstep Sample Pack’ were added unaltered into Notlö’s ‘Hallucination Effect’ and ‘Grudge (DEADBEATS),’ respectively.

After the post gained traction on Twitter, Notlö released a statement regarding the accusations. “Although there’s no guidebook on the creative process, I understand that the tracks in question are disappointing, and i have requested to take them down,” she wrote. “In addition, I am reaching out to the creators of these sample packs to talk to them. I’m dedicated to continuing to further my craft and hold myself to a higher standard in the production process. I am deeply sorry i used to use a lot of samples and loops.”
