A skillfully conceived melange of music, art, wellness, and community arises from Tabanan, Bali, in the form of the forthcoming LAY Festival from October 18 onwards. This assemblage is slated to steadily uncoil a bevy of immersive activities such as yoga, meditation, nature walks, wellness sessions, and chill-out DJ sets all devised to alleviate the mind, body, and soul. Tickets to LAY Festival in Bali are brought to you by The Ticket Fairy. Here are a few things you need to know about the shindig –
Touted as ‘Chillout. Music. Ocean’ and rooted in a steadfast commitment to ocean conservation, the organizers of LAY weave a three-day experience that highlights the grandeur of our world while also driving efforts at the preservation and protection of our ecosystems. Stirred in from October 18 to 20 are flea market stalls, multiple food vendors, workshops, informative talks by renowned speakers, watersports as well as beachside undertakings.
Musically, the card is stacked with local and international artists whose performances are known to portal festivalgoers to a state of serenity and bliss. Seasoned DJ/producer henriq, genre-fluid duo Bottlesmoker, deep-house connoisseur BLOOM, ambient act Liminal Roots, and multi-instrumentalist Catur Hari Wijaya are all currently in the mix.
Glancing into some of the workshops listed at this pet-friendly affair, you’ll discover tie dye workshops, dreamcatcher making, coasters and carabiners making, Batek painting, bamboo instruments and vocal explorations by Sacred Instruments, body movement, and numerous eco-conscious workshops. Healing Sessions are also on offer with sound healing, ecstatic dance, breathwork & meditation, and a special Cacao Ceremony hosted by Puente Pelangi’s Juan and Purnama is also scheduled.
LAY’s marketplace section is set to boast handicraft items and delectable food preparations and also puff out alternative cuisine styles, sustainable food, and fashion brands.
Importantly, with a long-term mission to make a positive impact on the ocean and coral reefs, the promoters have partnered with marine conservation organizations to raise awareness and support efforts in their protection and restoration. A portion of the proceeds are aimed at coral restoration projects by Living Seas and Waste Management Efforts by Sungai Watch.
Keeping the protection of the sea bed, along with an eco-friendly and sustainable culture mindset at the helm, instead of the regular ‘single day passes’ or ‘festival passes,’ tickets are listed as Ocean Pass (three days), and day-wise entry as Turtle, Coral, and Starfish Pass. To this effect, a screening of ‘Chasing Coral,’ a documentary film from filmmaker Jeff Orlowski that outlines the disappearance of coral reefs, will also be held.
LAY Festival will make the beach-facing hideaway Bali Beach Glamping its residence; doors open from 2 PM onwards on October 18 and ticket sales are open until the last day of the event.
